Group Rides
We’ve had significant turnout for each of our group rides.
Participation has been between 30-80 people at each ride, of which approximately 20% of cyclists were participating in their first group ride.
Inclusivity is one of our main goals and we always had a slower, no-drop group to accommodate newer cyclists
-
Indigo Race Grant
The goals were to decrease the barrier of entry for FTW (femme, trans, women), BIPOC, and adaptive athletes to increase diversity of the sport while also supporting the local cycling community and race scene.
We held two fundraisers where we have been able to raise ~$500 which helped 7 cyclists with race entry costs: 2 female paracyclists, 3 women, and 2 BIPOC riders.
-
Steelworker's Practice Crits
We held 3 days of practice races for beginner and intermediate cyclists: May 21, June 11, July 9.
Two of these nights are designated women’s nights where women race free. Juniors (under 18) also received discounted entry fees.
We held the races in the south side of Chicago and reached out to several organizations to build connections with the local community and to increase participation
